Fishing

[X. Acidstar .X]

Leopardfang, a pretty little gold and black dappled she-cat, was sitting at the water's edge, her head cocked to the side and her eyes dilated, expanding as they took in the scene. A lengthy fish was swimming slowly beneath the water's surface, as Leopardfang gently clawed the water top, sending ripples down the stream, waiting for the right moment to grab the fish when next thing she knew.

A long pelted gray tom dove into the water, snatched up the fish and jumped up beside Leopardfang. His long tail twitched as he rested his honey gaze on her, the fish still tightly held in his fangs. He dropped it and stared at her. "You were going to miss it." He said simply, tail flicking as he licked his paw and swiped it over his face.

Leopardfang sprang back as Gingerclaw emerged with her fish in tow, and she growled, swiping at his nose with a grin. She was usually a bit harsher to toms, but Gingerclaw was the exception, "Furball." she spat, leaning forward and easily taking the fish from his jaws, meowing and nudging him hard sideways, sending them both whirling into the calm waters [ which was why it was so easy to see the fish allright] with a yowl of delight.

Gingerclaw purred in amusement as he was thrown into the clear waters. The tom kicked up some water into Leopardfangs face. "Well then," He said spraying more water at her. "Seems your a smart little kitty!" He said leaping around her and splashing her.

Leopardfang grinned, leaping at the bank and digging her claws into the earth, flicking her tail against the water and splashing the tom, leaping back onto dry land and she whirled around, batting at him from the bank with a purr of delight, "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought me back!" she chanted happily.

"Ahh, come on silly! Gimme a paw here, oh wait..." The gray and white tom leaped easily onto the shore and flashed her a smile. He flicked his tail at her shoulder and walked in front of her. "There goes fishing, you mousebrain." He mewed teasingly.

Leopardfang cuffed him with her paw, grinning as she bent down to pick up the forgotten fish, "Atleast we have something to bring back. If not," she grinned with mischief, "Looks like we get extra hunting duty!"

Gingerclaw crouched down and muttered somthing inaudible. "I should hope not, I've been out all day!" He crouched down and looked as Leopardfang picked up the fish. He smiled and began his way to camp, smiling over his shoulder.
